Amba's opinion

Amba, my friend from University of the Philippines Diliman shared his opinion and made an essay. Check this out: Why Philippine Culture is Utterly Blank to Me by Amba I remember my English teacher back in my high school days. She was discussing the life of Ninoy Aquino; his trials, obstacles, journey and his question. The question really disturbed me: Is the Filipino worth suffering, or even dying for? So I asked my self, how far shall we go to answer this question? Can we do it for our countrymen? One sunny afternoon, I decided to watch television programs together with my nieces, Bea and Maxine. I am really entertained by these two girls because they are English speaking. I made a promise that they will be the one to choose the program they wanted. So they switched the television on and started to click on different channels, until they have decided to watch the Power Puff Girls. During the advertisement, I asked Bea for the remote control and I accidentally changed the program to Ca

Is Philippines really that poor?

Since i started to take the nightingale'spledge when i was in second year, i also started to attend seminars to be a product of quality competetive nurses in the Philippines. some shocking thoughts came into my poor little mind. Is Philippines' social economic status really that low compared to other countries of the same perceived problems? Perhaps not. but perhaps, yes too. I don't have any idea about what is going. what I know is that we are open to change and we do the best that we can and that's what matters after all. And now that i am to end my 3rd year life to enter the next level as a nursing student, i started to get confused and wonder why people act such things as if they were not Filipinos. I admit. yeah, a lot of Filipino students who are currently and who will soon take nursing were not after the term "serving" and are just for "MONEY". Yes, it may be a sad news but that's the call of the society. The term "real serving"

Cramming

Two weeks from now, i have to finish my thesis and i haven't collated the datas yet. Examinations and Grand Case Presentation are also additional problems to think this February. I passed the Philippine Constitution examination but my coming Major Exam for Medical Surgical Nursing 2, i am not sure. The Cut off is already 75% as declared by the PRC. it's already a preparation for the board examinations. i hope to pass as a regular nursing student with no failing grade. waha! the The implementation of our seen health threats in our Community Diagnosis last semester will also be observed within the coming week. It's a FebFahirap week. Not a real FebFair. waaahhh.. I really hope to pass. by the way, on the 17th of this month, I'l be in UP Diliman to unwind. haha. lotsa bands. :) then on the 18th, i'll be attending the seminar. Gawd. Nominations are now open! Yep, you read it right: Nominations for the 2007 Philippine Blog Awards are now open! You may submit as many blo

Pre- Valentine incidence.

perhaps, this is one of my loneliest valentine ever in my mature life. ewan ko ba. i dunno. i have survived before without having "special" someone. but now, i find it hard. maybe, the fact that i have undergone to several relationships before then having no one suddenly. haha. this entry has nothing to do with "special" someone tha is only yours. haha. i just can't think of a much better introduction since hours from now, roses and the rest of all the flowers in the world will start to fall because it's Valentine's Day. After having lunch at school cafeteria a while ago, i decided to accompany my friend in our training hospital. she's going to submit her case study at pediatrics department. i decided to went to the treatment room to check my other schoolmates in making their plan of care to the patients where they were assigned. i looked at respiratory ward where i ws assigned two weeks ago before moving to surgery department. Actually, my duty that

Compliments

i am not talking of the long sleeves brand. i am talking of my experiences in the hospital while being a student nurse. a lot of things made me happy while others made me cry. but this semester's experience is very much different. i have received a lot of compliments especially in the new departments and wards where i was assigned. it's a nice feeling that you see your patient's condition improving and that they appreciate your works is the bestamong all things. Let me talk about my patient in Orthopaedic department where we will hide in the name "Boy Ji". My patient is admitted to be toxic. Critical. the time that I saw my patient creates a sad feeling. i thought he is dying. At the age of three, he is confined at the hospital, malnourished, with high grade fever, annd with hip dislocation. in addition to this, he was also diagnosed of having Anemia (probably an Iron Deficiency type because he is malnourished) secondary to Acute Glomerulonephritis. I do not know
